Mike MABASA is a Transport Economist by training with a considerable business background in the aviation industry. He currently serves as Chairman of the Air Services Licensing Council, a Government regulatory body that is responsible for economic regulation of the Aviation sector across the Republic of South Africa. Mike also served in many other capacities such as Chairman of the Board of Air Traffic Navigation Services (ATNS) and a member of the International Air Services Council. Before joining NAAMSA, Mike worked in senior executive positions for a number of blue-chip multinational corporations such as Heineken International, Diageo, Rio Tinto and Japan Tobacco International. He also served in Government as a spokesperson and a Ministerial Advisor to the late Dr. Dullah OMAR in his capacity as Minister of Transport. As a philanthropist in his own right, Mike’s purpose is about “Impacting People” at every level and in everything he does.
