Julia Steyn is an innovative leader with varied and diverse experience across multiple disciplines. She currently serves as CEO of BOLT Mobility, a tech-driven micromobility company that partners with cities and corporations around the globe to provide safe and sustainable transportation solutions. Steyn’s mission is to shape the future of personal mobility, giving customers access to highly personalized, on-demand mobility services that match their ever-changing needs in today’s world.
An innovative thought leader in transportation, Steyn previously served as Vice President, Urban Mobility and Maven at General Motors from 2015 to 2019. Maven combines and expands General Motors’ multiple personal mobility programs under a single brand and focuses on a wide array of car and ride-sharing offerings.
Steyn joined General Motors in 2012 as vice president, Corporate Development and Global Mergers & Acquisitions. Steyn managed a diverse portfolio of GM’s global automotive partnerships as well as partnerships outside the industry. She also developed new merger and acquisition opportunities for the company.
Before joining GM, Steyn was vice president and co-managing director for Alcoa's Corporate Development group, leading its mergers and acquisitions, competitive scanning and new business target screening activities. She also has worked at Goldman Sachs in key positions in London, Moscow and New York. Her responsibilities included a broad variety of transactions across a number of countries, industries and products. Earlier in her career, she was a business analyst at A.T. Kearney.
In addition, Steyn was a concert pianist of international distinction. She was born in Russia and moved to the U.S. in 1990.
