Issam Mouslimani - Smarter Mobility Africa

As the Director of Regulatory and Business Affairs at AXA Gulf, Issam Mouslimani is responsible for building relationships with all relevant Regulators, Insurance Associations and Governments in the region in order to align AXA’s internal strategic approach with the external business environment risks, regulatory and opportunities in the GCC. Mouslimani’s role involves acting as a resource on regulatory matters with regards to business product and pricing changes, by providing strategic and technical advice from the start of process, and making important contributions to the success of business as a whole. Prior to this role, Mouslimani held the position of Head of Regional Retail Product Offering for more than 9 years, with products ranging from Motor, Travel, Home, PA and other lifestyle products for the UAE, Oman, Bahrain and Qatar markets. Moreover, he had launched the KSA Personal Lines operation in 2012 with full underwriting management until 2017, and worked on the PL start-up of AXA Egypt, being fully engaged in the business plan, strategy and operation between 2013 and 2015. Prior to joining AXA Gulf, Mouslimani worked with some of the largest international Insurance Groups, leading his teams in strategic business development including mass market propositions and solutions for non-proprietary business. He was the Head of Personal Lines in the Arabian region at AIG Insurance in Dubai from 2006 to 2009, Motor UW & Claims Manager at Dubai Islamic Insurance from 2003 to 2006, and the Motor Department Manager at Emirates Insurance Company. He has a proven track record in optimising business opportunities using smart modelling and decisive problem solving skills, with the ability to create and execute successful business plans. Mouslimani is an active contributor in the Insurance community, and has written several editorial articles for key publications in the Gulf Region. He is a well-known and established technical expert in insurance with strong management experience ranging from multi- channel regional markets to alternative distribution and sophisticated business offerings.
