Would you get behind an Electric Vehicle knowing that it could be the best car you would ever drive?
Would you get behind an Electric Vehicle if you knew it could be the best technology you have ever experienced?
Would you get behind an Electric Vehicle knowing that the transition is coming sooner than you think?
E-Fest ELECTRIC will unpack why it is important to get behind the EV revolution through a live exhibition, test rides & drive opportunities, informative panel discussions and product demonstrations, and lots of areas to relax, enjoy your day and make the most of Cape Town’s fine weather.
For the first time ever in the history of the ABB FIA Formula E, Cape Town will open its doors to the WorldChampionship, as it hosts the Cape Town E-Prix! E-Fest ELECTRIC will form part of the events co-located with the Cape Town E-Prix, by bringing an all-electric collection of activities to the overall Racegoer experience.
“It’s about pushing awareness and understanding but also interest and demand from end-users,” says Ben Pullen, Group Director of Mobility at VUKA Group.
Currently South Africa has the most advanced electric car market in Africa. In 2022 there is about 1,000 electric vehicles (EVs) out of a total fleet of 12 million automobiles. In Kenya the number of EVs was estimated at 350, while a total of 2.2 million registered vehicles were likely in use in the country. Although a significant amount of progress has been made, Africa is still lagging behind, with a record of 6.6 million electric vehicles sold globally.
“South Africa is ready for electric vehicles. There’s some work to be done to get us to a point where we are more ready, but certainly there are many businesses, governments and consumers that could really embrace electric vehicles today as it stands. The collection of February events are definitely going to push the discussion forward and move us to a position where we’re even more ready to embrace the electric vehicle transition, and all the benefits that come with it. And I think that’s only going to improve as we go along,” says Pullen.
A splendid event set in the heart of the Cape Town E-prix street circuit in Green Point. A fan zone and family friendly celebration allowing locals and race goers a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with the racing action and exciting developments in the e-lectric future.
It’s time to level-up knowledge on electric vehicles by hearing from the experts, end users and solution providers. A day of interactive panel discussions and product demonstrations will ensure all the questions around the electric vehicle transition can be answered.
